How we declare advertising, affiliate links, and transparency

Why does PetrolPrices advertise?

PetrolPrices is a free-to-use website designed to help UK drivers compare fuel prices, access fuel-related tools, and read helpful guides.

Running and maintaining the site involves ongoing costs, including website infrastructure, data processing, and content development. To keep PetrolPrices free for users, some of the site's income comes from advertising and affiliate partnerships.

If you choose to use a product or service featured on PetrolPrices via one of our links, this may generate a commission at no extra cost to you. This helps support the continued operation and improvement of the site.

How we declare advertising and affiliate content

Affiliate links

Some pages on PetrolPrices contain affiliate links, particularly within guides, tools, and informational pages. If you click an affiliate link and go on to make a purchase or sign up for a service, PetrolPrices may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.

Where appropriate, affiliate links may be marked with an asterisk (*) or explained within the page content.

Sponsored content

If any article or page contains paid-for or sponsored content, this will be clearly labelled with the word Sponsored at the beginning of the article or near the relevant section.

Website and PWA

PetrolPrices operates as a website and can also be installed on mobile devices as a Progressive Web App (PWA) via a home-screen icon. Any advertising or promotional content shown on the website or within the PWA will be clearly identifiable.

Advertising does not influence fuel price data, rankings, search results, or editorial content.

Editorial independence

All tools, calculations, and editorial content on PetrolPrices.co.uk are managed independently. Fuel price data is displayed as provided via the UK Government's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) Road Fuel Prices Scheme.

Advertising partners and affiliate relationships do not influence comparisons, rankings, or guidance provided on the site.

Fuel price data sources

Fuel prices displayed for branded filling stations (Applegreen, Asda, BP, Esso, JET, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Shell, Tesco, and Texaco) are sourced from the UK Government's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) Road Fuel Prices Scheme, to which fuel retailers submit their pricing data.

PetrolPrices.co.uk displays this information as provided for informational purposes only and does not set, control, or amend fuel prices.

For any queries regarding pricing at branded stations, please contact the relevant fuel retailer directly.
